In my family all have a brown-alarm still have of the past. The clock from the 80 / 90s are still partly in use and function reliably. When I needed a new alarm clock, I was glad that Brown is now offering the design classics in a refreshed version. So it was six months ago, this Braun radio alarm clock with angepriesener "German precision". Unfortunately, the design is pretty much the only thing that still recalls the old brown-qualities. The front that was earlier made of glass, is now of the cheapest plastic, which gets scratched very quickly. The ringing of the alarm clock I unlike some other reviews felt to be loud enough and the sound was not unpleasant, but just right. One can also hear any ticking, which is very important to me an alarm clock. The alarm should set the time automatically via radio to a radius of 1,500 kilometers from Frankfurt. Although Vienna is about 700 kilometers from Frankfurt, which has never worked. The manual setting is very cumbersome with the small button on the back, but you do not do it anyway so often.
So much for that. With all this, I could still live. But a few days ago the alarm clock has simply ceased to function. Not even the light (where instead of a conventional lamp a more energy-efficient LED would have been more appropriate) can be turned on. And that after only six months! With a clock of about 40, - costs should not happen.
In my opinion, today's Braun alarm clock are now unfortunately a far cry from the previous quality.
