After my first garlic press of Fackelmann, a different model than this one, extreme material weaknesses had (even detaching chrome coating and rust) I complaining directly Fackelmann and got the present product as a free replacement. For this, first of all a big thank you to the company Fackelmann for uncomplicated handling of my complaint!
Unfortunately, one does not seem to be real progress in product development, as well as this garlic press is really useless - and it's my first home appliance at all, in which I have to say so!
First of all, the device appears thoughtful and ergonomic: rubber grip, wide punches with smooth edges (Figure 1), cleaning function by flipping the lever to the other side (Figure 2).
Unfortunately, this concept fails to poor choice of materials and faulty workmanship.
The material of the lever is too soft. Even with relatively little force compels them together (3 + 4). This seems too little pressure on the garlic to exercise because what comes forward from the press, is almost nothing (5 pictures)! So pressing tighter and feel the press would break apart the same. But the poor 'Press Result' comes not from a lack of power on the levers, but the poorly constructed form of stamp and shell. The punch leaves too many gaps. One gets the surfaces of the punch and sieve only a few places actually pressed against each other (Figure 6). So the garlic is not crushed by the end and there is a lot of toe 'unpressed' (Picture 7). Reason is too short a stamp and its unfavorable approach (Figure 8, see Figure 1).
And as if the remains of the half-crushed garlic really nice despite the imaginary cleaning function would not be hard enough to remove from the press, can be between the grips yet wonderfully dirt and liquid penetration (Figure 9). And now the crowning: the sheet metal on the hinge has already been torn to the highest 5 times use and should not be much longer withstand (Figure 10), which can confirm multiple users obviously.
Love Company Fackelmann,
tests your your products anyway? Apparently not. Because the mentioned deficiencies should qualified product designers (or at least the buyers, if you do not own the stuff manufactures) notice before they enter the Sold.
Conclusion:
Nice thought, poorly implemented.
For Idea and Design's one star. More is not in it, because the garlic press because of the many flaws is a disposable product.
