The score begins with a powerful piece of "The Day After Tomorrow", in which the large-scale and harmonious, sounding main theme is introduced. I would not have thought Kloser. A striking melody that fits perfectly with the theme of the film.
Unfortunately, it then goes further weakening. He creates a few small side issues, such as the kind and unobtrusive "Sam!".
Mainly stüzt Kloser to the quieter moments in the film and therefore makes a mistake: The mood of the film does not want to pay all, because unfortunately there are only two real action tracks ("Tidal Wave" and "Super Freeze"), and these are not even particularly long. Especially "Tidal Wave" is one of the best places in the score and the movie, is based only on this CD the track tension better than me, but then ends again so quickly that you prefer just want to hear this track ... Therefore, the entire soundtrack permanently looks a bit tough, though it is only 38 minutes.
But that is mainly due to the lousy publication of Varese. In Score There are many good and successful places that I would have liked on a CD, but unfortunately it creates Varese repeatedly to spoil good scores. Even the last track "Burning Books" actually belongs in the middle of the tracklist. As a final piece of this title is simply too unexciting ...
In addition, the great main theme is only available twice and is not even vary in size.
Nevertheless, the simple music goes well with the film because an opulent and rich themes score would have been inappropriate for the pretty serious movie. But the fact is that simply missing too many good title!
Harald Kloser is not necessarily a good composer, for his work on "Alien vs. Predator", "10000 BC" or "2012" are unimaginative and act like bad copies ...
"The Day After Tomorrow" is the only bright spot and a really solid soundtrack, which unfortunately fell victim to poor publication, too bad!
