I initially I added myself because Knyphausen, because I know his first two solo albums and appreciate. An outstanding songwriter who combines lyrical weight, emotional and reckless impudence in a unique way. Sometimes it is somewhat brittle, sometimes he has a penchant for dark and melancholy. With this in mind, I have "Kopphausen" approached me. My first impression: not melancholy, not gloomy. The new disk is louder, more complex, more voluminous than Knyphausens solo albums, in addition it carries Country influences. And above all, you sound optimistic.
This is probably due to Nils Koppruch (Ex Finch singer), who also had the best qualities and songwriter between rock, folk and Americana was home. Rauh, unpretentious, brash, that was his thing, with subtly profound, partly direct texts with dry wit. The texts will now appear in the context of his early death in a different light. You sound like someone who is struggling between hope and optimism rags. "Every day is a gift / He's just packed shit," it says in "The easiest thing in the world", and: "Then I was for a while in a coma / Now I'm finally awake again / And I got you flowers and chocolates brought the ass of hell ".
Knyphausen and Koppruch complemented each other perfectly, and she was "Kopphausen" his own words more than one project. There should be a new band. From her, I'm sure some would have been expected.
