I wanted my min NEX-5N use my existing lenses from Minolta / Sony. And I've assumed that an AF function for motorized lenses (SAM) is to function. Here I was expecting a bitter disappointment. A firmware for this adapter specifically designed for Sony Nex5-n does not exist. The version of the previous models could be installed either on Windows nor Mac OS, both 32 or 64 bit did not matter. A request to Sony customer service I had could save me because I just did not get any response. I'll keep the adapter for the reason that I am a long time do not depend on AF and manual focusing in most situations. Unfortunately, some Sony-Obketive are just not made for it. Eg Sony 35mm 1.4. Good look with a miserable manual focus. The game has so much that a focus at an aperture of 2 works by chance than deliberately. Amazingly, Sony SAM is 50mm 1.8 readily usable. Looks, of course, a bit bigger, but works well. Even despite the lack of optical stabilization can be quite good images at full aperture get with 1/60. Steady hand required. For flash-free photos a solution. Although the successor model of the adapter works absolutely flawlessly with my NEX-5N, but is twice as expensive and much thicker, which take advantage of the compactness of the camera largely relativized.
For the older models of the NEX-series of the adapter is a useful addition if necessary, for the NEX-5N and Co., More of a niche product with limited usability.
