Plus:
- Good focal length from 24mm to 120mm
- High in WW
- Right Keen autofocus
- Easy to use due function ring on the lens (as already S90, S95 S100)
- Easy to read display with meaningful touch functions
- Cash and Videos
- Very handy case. Feels valent
Minus:
- Dial now on and no longer in the housing thereby exposed and the camera is slightly higher than the S95
- Touchscreen is set very sensitive. At the slightest touch, the camera already photographed
- Eyelet for threading the strap is an impertinence. Just a lot of on the small side
- Picture quality is not at the height of the CCD cameras
I made a series of around 100 images with the S95 and the S110. Liked with the operation and the extended possibilities of the 24-120 zoom. The possibility of triggering directly on the touch screen a photo with an appropriate focal point I liked. I've known from my Olympus OM-D E-M5. I then loaded all the photos to the computer and compared times without any alteration. Except for a photo of all were sharper from the S95 and the colors more vivid. Something I also, when I compare to a DSLR a "cheap kit lens" against a lichstarkes expensive. I could see it clearly already in the normal view of the screen. With magnification to 100%, the differences were even more pronounced. I printed out a dozen photos on 13x18 and if different people for evaluation. Result: more than 90%, everyone agreed that the S95 provides sharper and more detailed pictures. I tried to take pictures in the S110 with the possibilities of sharpness (+1 and +2), find but it has not brought much. I tried using DxO refresh the photos, resharpen, but I have not quite reached the level of S95.
Conclusion:
interesting little camera with many useful functions. Reklativ faster autofocus, good video, great light intensity in WW, good zoom of 24-120mm. Good appealing (almost too good response for me :-) touchscreen display with good readability, even in bright environments. Those who do not like I studied the image quality so critical, will be well pleased with the camera. I'll wait for the next issue before I transfer my "old" CCD camera S95.
