In commemoration of the "Dark Days", as the districts against the Capitol rebelled and failed, but also to entertain the Capitol Society, the Reality TV format "The Hunger Games" is an annual event that with the ritual of the draw start Tribute before this - accompanied in contrast to the oppressive and fear charged atmosphere of "Reapings", and of course always of cameras and a whole preparation team - are treated and prepared as Stars, then - pure nightmare scenario - in a natural arena to be suspended in order to fight there against 23 other young people about survival.
In this background setting is the story of Katniss Everdeen, the not perfect and thus so sympathetic heroine, embedded, from the first-person perspective to the fast-paced and entertaining action - described in a liquid and relatively simple style - learns and sympathizes.
As a female tribute from District 12 you go through with it fear, courage, compassion, sadness, distrust and love, constantly fighting for their lives, as opposed to her desire to help others, even though she knows that only an arena alive can leave ...
