Positives: graphics.
Uncharted 3 brings out the now elderly PS3 out a whole lot. There is little difference between cut-scenes and gameplay, the landscapes are stunning, the lighting effects and the water look easy class. There are always moments when you stop and just trodden space (or the country) want to look at it from top to bottom. The second part looked even bombastic, but that has Naughty Dog can beat once more, at least as regards my feelings.
Mixed: Gameplay.
The gameplay is almost the same as in Uncharted 2. It has virtually nothing changed, except that you can throw back grenades now, when you press a button at the right moment. In addition, there are some new weapons, and close combat system has been enhanced. So now indicates when to press which key to avoiding or countering a Würgeattacke. In addition, Nathan now uses objects from the environment to opponents one überzubraten (Although this is more or less scripted, but nevertheless makes for amusing moments and variety).
Because of the few innovations you sometimes have the feeling that they have Uncharted 2 right. Especially if the same display (eg. The "Notice" display) are used. A little more variety would certainly not hurt the game, but also raises the question of what one does over its predecessor could have improved.
The variety within the game, I feel as balanced. It is in many fundamentally different places, the different game elements alternate overall quite well off. Be fun especially stressful scenes where you have to run away from someone or escape from the collapsing buildings. The puzzles are all great, but it would have been a bit more of it for my taste.
In addition, I had the impression that one often even jumps into the void or that the cover system is not working quite as it should. Possibly a little more fine-tuning would have been needed.
Positives: Storytelling.
The narrative style of the story is usual class. We learn more about Nathan's past, playing him as a child, there are many twists and turns. There is actually no reason to complain, even if the predecessor has me here like a little better, where the story was built to a large extent from flashbacks.
Mixed: The story itself.
In Uncharted 3, I found the story itself more confusing than truly captivating. Also remain open at the end some things. The end itself, I found also a bit too flat, because I definitely had expected more. Unfortunately, we learn much about the opponents in the game, Marlowe and their henchmen. Overall, the story is certainly good, but in direct comparison to Uncharted 2, I found it rather then a little disappointing.
Otherwise, I have played the game in the English language edition. This was as always very good; the German synchronization I can not say much, the few excerpts that I have heard so far, I have appreciated less. But that may be a matter of taste. The playing time in the first pass was about 11 hours at me (Hard difficulty). For this I was under the impression that the problem has eased. There were no places in the game where you have to really hard nut to crack, every point was made at the latest after a few attempts.
Too bad I find the complete absence of bonus material. In the first two parts could unlock vast amounts of features, such as concept art, making-ofs, other skins that bring variety to the single player, graphic filters, Tweaks..all that there is no longer in Uncharted 3. This, together with the flat end and the partially incorrect responsive control, gives me the feeling that you have not taken so much time for the third installment of the series as the previous games. That is too bad.
My conclusion: Uncharted 3 is a great game in all cases and should be in every collection. However, there can in my view, the quality of its predecessor not keep, just in terms of story. Therefore, only four stars from me.
