One must hate him or love him. This soundtrack is in addition to the epic Hollywood soundtracks, without which no film worth its salt still manages, definitely a gem of lively and soulful music. Admittedly, anyone who has not seen the film, for which there are only a couple of nice pieces. But film music was never intended. Anyone who has seen the film knows how sensitively Rachel Portman has exactly hit the right note here. The flutes, even let the longing of Vianne, other times hinted their exotic grandmother, fun-loving ways of gypsy guitar and the defiant pieces that are reflected Vianne's struggle against the petty bourgeoisie of the town worth hearing. For me one of the most refreshing soundtracks lately.
