I wanted to replace an old Geforce 7900 GS, which was just heavily outdated, but the Gainward could not really keep up with complex shaders or only minimal beat when it comes to gaming applications.
Benchmarks also showed that since despite 2GB GDDR not much is to be expected. Actually, not surprising at only 48 stream processors and a power consumption of just 29W.
I had tested the card even for the purpose of multimedia applications and unfortunately had to find even with HD movies that sometimes it was not running smoothly.
My system includes NEN 4-Kerner, 16GB Ram and 2 monitors (27 "& 24").
Conclusion:
You can not get a decent graphics card hands off, do not let rags as low: Gamer
for all others it is likely to be a low-cost investment, if the claims are not set too high.
