On the investigation itself, I found it interesting and well put together, with a real reminder to the first investigations of Pitt (again). Theological reflection was well proportioned, and I enjoyed learning more about Pitt's child through this. In addition, Charlotte is not too intervened (which is always a relief for me) although I was surprised to discover a Jemima so great (for me it is still child ...) I like this character but I am a little afraid that it becomes Charlotte bis / miniature, I hope this is not the angle will choose the author. The intervention of Narraway was sound, I like that character, for I still rebelling against me against marrying the unbearable Vespasia (the old woman begins to really tired ...) and I own all passages "sentimental" where Vespasia and Victor were introspective evidence on their overall feelings have bothered me. I found that it does not much help the plot, although in light of the choices to be made by the husband of Sofia, is justified (but I found that lingered author a bit too much ..).
What I like: all purely detective story, how Pitt is doing to disentangle.
What I like least: the place, in my opinion, too high, that the author grants to secondary characters and their feelings ... Especially when it concerns Vespasia ... Jemima that part seems to me to be a Charlotte bis, which is likely to get bored. The absence of Emily.
In brief: A good plot and a fascinating study in spite of too much given to stories of hearts / feelings of the secondary characters.
