I discovered this book because it was given by a library? I had seen the B movie or Z with Julie Delpy and Thierry Lhermitte, I thought "hey it must be fun" ... Big mistake, this book is a gem. An unknown masterpiece. Guy Endore plunges us into a historical fresco that is during the Paris Commune. It follows the life of a young man who campaigns against his will, without knowing why certain nights turns into a wolf. He does not remember anything. This is her guardian who doubt of it. Then leading to another he ascends Paris, joined the army. And then the novel takes its full extent, Endore comparing the horrors committed by the beast with those of the Commune. The book is sometimes unbearable, but the story is exciting, the very modern style. A jewel to read.
