In recent years, they clearly tried out more than ever before. The Israeli songbook on Italian folklore she is presenting us slightly jazzy pieces, rather minimalist instrumentation and rather decent, as loud and bombastic - it suits her well.
Although none of their last albums kinda sound the same and served very different styles of music, there are fortunately some very Noa-typical, which runs through all the albums - the unique voice, passion and power - even here. I initially believed, "Love Medicine" was one of its grandiose pop mix crossover albums, as this has published so many times before success. I was very surprised at how behavior and dreamy this cd sounds and how unschmissig it is, which of course is not a shortcoming. She has created a New York touch feeling, almost Streisand-like style here and cheating gambled on the heart in the head. Apart from the cheesy cover version of "Eternal Flame" it reaches us very well done rather on velvet paws and not with danceable world music, as already several times before.
The recordings for the album took place at home and with friends, without the stipulation of a record company, Noa proudly reported in an interview.
For me it is a further deepening of this / their facets, even though I would have secretly again desired a lively pop album. "Nothing but a song", "Look at the moon" or "You-Tu" as Anspieltipps.
More music recommendations from Noa in my opinion are: * Blue Touches Blue *, * NOA * Gold (Best-of) *, * Classic Noa - LIVE *, but especially * Genes & Jeans * and the collaboration with Mira Awad * There must be another way *.
