One in advance: Yes, the new Prodigy disc is definitely getting used to. At least if you want a sequel to "The Fat of the Land" awaits. You have the CD, repeatedly listen more than in all previous Prodigy CDs in order to get warm - but then it really hits like a bomb! With me "Aono" runs on rotation for three days almost 24/7. "Spitfire", the first track, sounds even after the "typical" Prodigy sound that could have easily fit on the "Fat of the Land", at the latest in "Girls" you realize that "Aono" no cheaper successor but once again created a completely new style. The track sounds like a daring fusion of a 80s Oldskool Electric Theme, Broken Beats, Captain Future and Aphex Twin. The new album can hardly compare with the old albums: It's back as electronic "FOTL" but at the same time still more aggressive than the old "Jilted Generation". In my opinion, Prodigy albums can be anyway but compare poorly with each other, because every album has always includes a unique style. The only thing that you could be accused of "Aono" is that, strictly speaking, compared to the otherwise often revolutionary, innovative old albums of sound is not really new. One already knows the whole thing as "electroclash", "NeoPop", "Synthpunk" and quite well-known acts such as Miss Kittin, Peaches, Chicks on Speed or Fisher Spooner. In perfect as Liam Howlett the whole, however, has arranged and gemixed and thereby integrated the Prodigy influences, you can hear something rare. In short, the Best Summer disk 2004! Buy!
