Anouk hides another. This is meant to explode everywhere microphones (Canadian or Dutch, we do not know too much about the massive waves of radio listening) and Anouk, the 1997, the late singer Mano Negra, and continues (phew!) burn his furrow quietly (too).
I researched this album. A song or two were tired, probably because they are perfect for partying in the car, and I was too tired. "Bad Blood", head of writing work, singing, and mixing compo is on this album. I bought the album for that song. And many others are the same barrel, grand cru, great feather subtle interpretation, reggae dub authentic atmosphere. The texts are in the booklet itself beautiful. Super good French song you will not hear on national radio or streaming (found!). It is not surprising: Anouk is the equal of Manu Chao accompanying on guitar, bass or vocals (courtesy friendly, it's beautiful) and it was still the era of EMI Virgin who took risks (now you have to look at Naive, small independent labels like Boucherie Productions who have been redeemed ...) and others, long before this current ice age music where the ears are worn by the same tempos the same phrases, texts (sic) written on a mobile phone SMS. "From war and death" is a great song still current on media accomplices voyeurs. Anouk addresses universal themes like the break with a disenchanted casually "A Dog Day Afternoon," "Bad Blood", "That day," "Politik" is a good charge to François Villon 1997 fashion against cynicism, and always gives the mark.
For once, K. Anouk is still little recognized is really shabby. Immortal album!
