I purchased a few months ago MWW. I consider myself a enthusiastic spare time athlete with quite a bit of experience and knowlegde on exercising.
I'll keep it short:
PROS:
- Nice design and great motivational writing
- Love the animal theme
- I Know That the Forysteks are men of great character and always willing to help (check out Their forum - it's great)
- Ready-made routines, Including sprint work
- Absolutely no equipment needed, except one or two chairs
- A special spine section
- Easy to follow Secrets of Health. A little bit trivial, but easy to follow and to the point, no doubt.
CONS:
- In my eyes the book has way too much focus on chest and from work. Not a good thing, Especially for office workers. Where's the back? What about pullups for instance? I know, I know, there's a Horse Flex I inter alia. But guys, to push the good old atlas pushup (aka Panther Flex I) so much forward without equal devotion to back work you're asking for trouble, no doubt.
- The same goes for the leg section. I'm sorry but from a physiological standpoint the course has Mainly squats. There's not a single exercise were the back of the leg (the leg bicep) is worked Directly (except maybe the sprints)
- There could've been more variety in the workout plan. Instead it's just "more reps". There are so many options, eg supersets, Tabata and so on and so on. So, if you really want to get the best out of the workouts, you may need to change things a little bit.
- Nearly no proof for the effectiveness of the system
To be honest, I've never tried MWW for a longer period of time. I did a few workouts and definately enjoyed them. But it pissed me off somewhat did you've to correct so many obvious mistakes. Maybe I'll give the course another go soon. I'll keep you updated.
To sum up: decent program yes, no outstanding program.
