The sound is great and the bass is sufficient. So I purchased to improve the sound of the TV from my mother who has a bit of age now to "boost" the sound a bit of TV.
However, if you want a kit its type "home theater", this is not for you.
Although the noise level can be quite loud without saturating, it is far inferior to a real 5.1.
By comparison, I have Logitech Z506 (5.1 500W), and there it spits strong. But Samsung's bar has no such pretensions.
It will improve the sonic power of your flat screen and have a low correct rendering still largely exceeding that afforded a flat screen. The sound is clear, the bass are present (without blowing the joints of your home windows!) And the noise level is correct without saturating.
In short, if you're a film buff and search power, go your way and go for a real 5.1.
However, if you are looking for a stylish element, which fits well into the design of your living room and even improves significantly when rendering too just a flat screen, then this sound bar is the product for you .
To summarize: home cinema = 5.1, improvement of the ordinary inexpensively = this soundbar.
