Old, possibly, but are silent on no account

No matter how one may think about the Ozzy from the "Osbournes" - so much power could the Madman hardly anyone still capable of. As a die-hard fan Ozzy I have the new CD "Black Rain" right on the publication day early in the morning (had naturally to this holiday break) increased and now brought to life-rotation in CD player, iPod and car. Unlike "Down to Earth" or "Under Cover", the new CD is finally back a true co-production of Ozzy and Zakk Wylde. Then you had to wait a long time - and it has really paid off. The CD needs some passages to the song ignite really, but then there's no stopping them. The production is awesome. Until now - of the production, not of the songs here - "Ozzmosis" my favorite, but "Black Rain" tops the loose. Be careful with your boxes !!! Tough, low-tuned guitars, powerful bass (as a good bass sound I have long not heard) and Power Drums without end. For this, the one or other modern sound gimmick - definitely not a 80's metal and also of "No More Tears" quite far away.

The companion volume with Zakk, Mike Bordin on drums and "Blasko" Nicholson (formerly Rob Zombie) is, of course - as always - excellent and really sounds also to tape. So, because so true before everything, you know about it. Now the songs, Schätzelein:

1. Not Going Away

Do not be fooled by the intro you. The sound of Wylde skin after 3 cycles Schrabbelsound as follows hammerhart out of the boxes that the plaster trickle from the walls. Tough, slow rhythm, nice text (something you want as a fan eventually years of almost 60 but listen), a quiet middle section and Ozzy, who are also full throttle itself. Class - 10 out of 10 points. Cost-to-measure

2. I Don * t Wanna Stop

Earwig. The chorus goes no longer from the ear after a single hearing. Class interaction of drums, bass and guitar - simple but effective. Live certainly a blast. And the guitar solo is simply divine. A bit more uptempo. 9/10

3. Black Rain

Definitely needs several passes. Intro class with harmonica and Southern Rock Feeling before Zakk Wylde again a riff monster in front of Mr. rauslässt (Iommi would also like). Currently my album highlight. The solo part is totally off the hook, with oriental-style sounds. And finally - to match the text on the Iraq war (War Pigs Greetings) a double bass thunderstorms. Excellent !!! 10/10

4. Lay Your World On Me

One of the two ballads on the album. Class sound effects, rather keyboard-heavy. While the verse comes across rather bleak, the chorus is pretty trendy. Nett. 8/10

5. The Almighty Dollar

Wow - this is the "Little Dolls" from "Black Rain". Angular and departed. Sounds almost after a very, very good song by Marylin Manson (only that it is not a good song of the so of course, LOL). Class bass line, hammer chorus and funky sounds. These Ozzy typical sardonic voice. Excellent. Getting used to, but then a big hit. 10/10

6 11 Silver

Uptempo - the fastest and hardest track of the album. Hammer guitar solo, but unfortunately remains otherwise depend not so much. For me, the weakest (but still good) song of Hammer CD. 7/10

7. Civilize The Universe

Excellent! Very modern-sounding song, super atmosphere, great anthemic chorus, good text. Super guitar work (although more bass and keyboards in the foreground). Had also super fit with other vocal on the last (and highly recommended) Billy Idol CD. Also one of the highlights: 10/10

8. Here For You

Mama I'm Coming Home, Part 2. OK, but nothing special for Ozzy conditions. Nice piano melody, nice chorus. Find determined all great dislike otherwise the rest of this album. So what. 7/10

9. Countdown's Begun

Once again, the Apocalypse - ever the lyrics this time are particularly bleak. Would otherwise have on "No More Tears" made a (very) good figure. Class riffing, super and super solo chorus. Once again the bull's-eye: 10/10

10. Trap Door

Wow, again uptempo. But this time hammermäßig horny. Super verse with great guitar and a killer chorus. The midsection blows everything away - super drums and bass! Black Sabbath are greeting. Unfortunately - and this is the only drawback to this Super Song - no solo (heul!). Otherwise, and because of the central part loose again 10/10

All in all, a very strong buy recommendation! Super - can not wait to finally see Ozzy live again and I hope that many pieces of "Black Rain" will find their way into the setlist. Playing it safe Ozzy is absolutely not gone with this CD - that would do it, I have thought the least.
