Here's my review:
S upremacy: Genial, somewhat reminiscent of 007 and that of a damn good. The mix of groovy guitars and bass riffs in conjunction with the strings and brass is unique and the marching music in verses gives the piece a more dynamic touch.
- Fans will get their money's worth - Despite new sounds.
M adness: Pretty simple, dubstep elements, for fans and connoisseurs of the "Muse sounds" a challenge. My personal high light the final part of the song was produced (approximately from the solo = of an incredible atmosphere.
- Getting used to but good.
P Anic S tation: A slight funky song. Muse has experimented and created a sound one has never heard of you. If you like the radio, it's no wonder. The melody goes in at one ear and the other is no longer out. For me one of the best songs / if not the best song on the album.
Pure ear candy -
P relude: Orchestral, nice to listen. Fits.
S urvival: somewhat reminiscent of Queen. Musically clever and mature, knows how to give Muse. The only drawback: the text. This one is not at all accustomed by Muse. Superficial and weak text 100% tuned to the Olympics. Too bad because the song is really good. But who would hear a German song with the following text? :
"Race, it's a race
and I'll win
Yes I'm going to win
I will never lose "
- Sorry Muse ... Olympia well and good, but the song did not gemüsst the album.
F ollow M e: Seeehr pleasant contrast to Survival. Lyrically very strong and emotional. The Dubstep returns, but makes itself quite well.
- Emotional
A Nimals: Another highlight. The melody of the electric piano is almost mesmerizing, towards the end of the song will also once again ride on. The Message is the Muse brings over here also awesome. Very politically and critically. The recordings of the shareholders in the Wall Street at the end really listen to for animal cries. Fits perfectly on
- Political. Critical. Musically excellent.
E Xplorer: When I heard the beginning I had to think of Muse immediately to the old B-side "Shine". The atmosphere is quite similar in these two songs. A beautiful ballad.
- Just listen and travel to foreign galaxies.
B ig F Reeze: Again radio elements, the piece increases toward the end and is a nice contrast to Explorers. Muse has really given some thought in the arrangement of the songs. Familiar synth sounds and shrill guitars conjure every fan a smile on your face.
- New and yet somehow familiar.
S ave e M: Bassist Chris for the first time as the main voice! If you have the story of Chris' alcohol dependency in mind, it is even more carried away. Simple respect for these emotional, different sounding and great song by Chris Wolstenholme!
- Thank you Chris.
L iquid S tate: Once again Chris! By far the heaviest track on the album, cool riffs, cool sound, good voice. Though they can not quite keep up with Matt's voice, but as a songwriter Chris has proven itself!
- Time to rock out!
U nsustainable + I solated S ystem: Nice final. Especially the apokalytisch seemingly Unsustainable the message of the album brings across well. Isolated system acts through the mesmerizing repetitive melody and added an almost in a trance. Very nice!
After initial doubts so I can only express a strong buy recommendation. Muse disappointed one just never. Who, however, too narrow-minded thinking and might not be open to new ideas (or Dubstep and radio generally rejects) drives may be better with the old albums.
Thank you for reading! (:
