On the second look ...

"On the second one looks better," it says in the advertisement. Here it is more the second Listen, or the third, or ...
In any case, "Morning Sci-Fi" an album that you "Listen-" only has to. But known "ignored" not one then also as light as the catchy mass-compatible productions from the Electronic area.
Melodic or industrial, dark and plaintive or floating and hopeful, grandiose or minimalist, it is difficult to describe this CD in a few words. Who knows Hybrid, immediately thinks of classical orchestra, at Electro Techno, at oblique lyrics with a deeper meaning, the voices of Julee Cruise and Chrissie Hynde and many remixes across techno, Electronic-, EBM and who-knows-what-still scene.
All right.
But what makes the New Order bassist Peter Hook please on an album of Hybrid? Of course: playing bass. In addition more electric guitar and male vocals of Adam Taylor (Do not worry: In "Blackout" with Kirsty Hawkshaw may also find one woman to the microphone). And these are just a few new names that are found on the cover. After all, some items are quite well again exactly what you'd expect from Hybrid: Electro Techno Meets Orchestra.
Overall, but a coherent body of work, though (for fans of previous CD's "Wide (r) fishing" or "remix and additional production by ...") arises again getting used to. Actually, it's exactly what makes it so awesome Hybrid: Your style gets under your skin, somehow fits everywhere and nowhere, and you can hear him in spite of diversity at once as "hybrid typical" from other productions out.
If you like vocals, maybe takes to "I'm still awake," "Steal You Away" and "Blackout" like, the industrial sound of "Know your enemy" or "Gravastar" on the other hand probably comes better with other on, but on the corresponding maxi outcouplings even better than on the album.
Additionally, there's a DVD (region code 0) with documentation, eg of the joint US tour with Moby, live recordings and exclusive mixes for all those who over hybrid more - before, on and off stage - would like to know, unfortunately, partly a bit poor prepared and of course, only in English.
In spite of everything, "hybrid" ultimately means "crossing" or "hybrids", so surprises are exactly what we can expect and want.
So listen in any case.
Maybe even twice or three times ...
... It is worth it!
