Wheelhouse (Deluxe Version) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

It took a while before I was able to keep Paisleys latest work in his hands, for it then but even the deluxe version - due to the import offer for the deluxe version from Amazon this was even cheaper than the normal version.
And it was one of those this year so typical hot sunny summer days than to the CD in the car lodged for the first time. Well what can I say, the first two songs, "Southern Comfort Zone" and "Beat this summer" fit perfectly; loose, casual and a little hymn-like, very different from the Paisley by earlier, but then to seamlessly "This is Country Music". Who had found on that very last album pleased with songs like "Workin 'On Her Tan" will be able to be happy about "Mona Lisa" or "Runaway Train", the beat in the same direction ... lyrically maybe a bit banal, but just right for a good mood.
When the disc was the first time through, I was then but admittedly somewhat disappointed. The use of rap sections while several songs, which places a bit too pop sound or for Paisley unusually bland lyrics were not quite what I had hoped for. Since rescued the geschmetterte love ballad "I can not change the world" not too much. Immediately I wanted to but then give but not defeated and have to confess with each listen to the CD made wider in my player and is a month later indispensable little more. ... Why? I can say it's bad. The songs are rippling, not pushy and down to "Accidental Racist" not to clicking away. Maybe it's the simple unobtrusive service which makes the CD a pleasant summer accompaniment.
My Conclusion? I can not enter here. I like "Wheelhouse", musically it closes quite good at "This is Country Music" and misses the sometimes somewhat shopworn Country genre another nudge into the 21st century. However, it was even pushed a bit too hard.
But since I still can pick out one or the other Schmakerl me, there's four stars ... a good cut, of three and five.
