1. Here Come the Vultures: Starts with a quiet intro, and then goes into a murderous riff showing same time, where we are heading. Oh, and with 6:05 minutes even the longest Delain song ever! Strong start! (9/10)
2. Your Body is a Battleground: Already published in advance as a lyric video (=> prestige, if not already done!). This song is convincing, even if you first need at the text a little acclimatization. As a guest singer Marco Hietala on board and his vocal performance can go either way does not disappoint when he sings to me for my taste a bit too high, but good ^^ Even Charlotte is here in full swing: "One for your heart, for your head. One for every monster Under your bed! " (8.5 / 10)
3. Stardust: The catchiest song on the album was immediately chosen as the first single (=> also here: YouTube - watch!) Rockt neat and sets the mood. The percussion drill here formally in the skull :) (8/10)
4. My Masquerade: And another great track. This time with a slight catchy factor and a really good break. Not bad! (8/10)
5. Tell Me, mechanist: First, a short intro, the guitars shred the "Mother Machine" style. Another good song with George Oosthoek, known as a former member of the now defunct Death and Gothic Metal band Orphanage, which contributes a few growls. (8.5 / 10)
6. Sing to Me: The best in my opinion song on the album. Hart - hardener - Delain! A board with an epic chorus and Marco Hietala! Madness !!!! (10/10)
7. Army of Dolls: breathers there is no here! We continue with a song that will definitely be another highlight on Delain concerts. Again, everything is pure fired what is ammunition available again. The break is just pure madness and blows a final brain off;) (9/10)
8. Lullaby: midtempo number that is the quietest and most melodic piece of board despite the relative hard stanzas. (8/10)
9. The Tragedy of the Commons: The end of the album is the leisurely incipient "The Tragedy of the Commons". Then Alissa White-Gluz comes in and shows why she is the new in Arch Enemy. For me, though I find it very good, the vocal performance of the two women, the weakest song on the album (weak in Hitdichte but rather relative). (7/10)
Bonus CD:
I would really advise anyone to purchase the digipack, because the contained on the bonus CD 9 (!!!) pieces are absolutely worth the money! On the 2 Euro it cometh not. The bonus CD contains 2 bonus tracks:
1. Scarlet: A truly wonderful ballad that works without any guitar or bass. Only the keyboard, strings and drums are heard. Toll! (8/10)
2. Do not Let Go: The 2nd bonus track on fire once all circuits through with class guitar sound that wonderfully complements the electronic elements. Has what of industrial metal. (8.5 / 10)
Only criticism: The bonus tracks could have been integrated yet quiet as an integral part in the relatively short playing time of the album.
The Title 3 - 7 are then live songs, including the new My Masquerade. Immaculate sound and worth every penny!
Title No. 8 and No. 9 are then pure orchestral versions of the songs Sing to Me and Your Body is a Battleground.
Conclusion: "The Human Contradiction" has become probably the best Delain album. How could beat the 2 last grandiose albums I have not explained, but the likeable Dutchman did it!
