Once a month I sink both houses. Actually, affected mainly the roof of Vogelkotklecksen. The birds may be due to the slope, not sit on, but the house hangs in our tree, and from higher branches do the birds in advance their business fully on the roof. The feed plate is protected from above through the roof and is connected to the high margin maintained so that the birds usually protrude when sit on your rump over the edge. ;)
Some of the smaller birds that rose up around vollzufuttern thoroughly for a few minutes on the plate, however, revolve around while eating, so that they can better keep out. Here, of course, ever something feces up on our plates. I fill the feed hopper but every two days, and this is never occurred to me that the dish would therefore be contaminated more.
The birdseed house itself consists of: (see customer photos)
- A bottom plate by a mounting rod is pulled
- A support rod with a loop for hanging (with cord or hook)
- A food bowl with 6 large holes to the feed to fall through
- A roof with a small hole that is placed through the eyelet
- A (comic) hook
You can put the house together and take apart again within seconds. The lining is protected from rain. Through
the small hole in the roof penetrates due to the Aufsteckens (you can then easily turn the roof for attachment) nothing, and from above the feed plate is protected by the roof. Of course, moisture can penetrate into the plate when it rains heavily and storms, but on the whole it is very weather resistant. The comic hook is apparently intended to secure the house at some point, I could start a little. Where to the bitteschön purely screws? I have a piece of string is pulled through the eye and firmly knotted and can now hang freely at any suitable branch in the tree there.
A single bite me in the house noticed which is not quite so ideal. Once in the feed mixes slightly larger elements in it, such as peanuts, then it may be that these if they knubbeln to block the flow a bit. One must then ever to shake the house, that the food from the bowl nachrutscht in the plate. But I had already feeding containers where it was significantly worse, because in principle, the holes in this house here already relatively large.

Attention, the rest of the review refers only indirectly to the bird feeders and portrays probably more my newfound joy of Vogelfütterei and some lessons learned that I would like to share with other people. ;)

One of our little house hanging on a tree right outside our kitchen window and is mixed with shelled sunflower seeds and a feed mixture. The sunflower seeds are of course a big hit. Our other house hangs a little further back in the garden and contains mainly coarse oatmeal. This is not quite as popular as the sunflower seeds, but the animals go at it and it's something gentler on your wallet.
I personally already prepares the bird feeder outside our kitchen window great joy. The biodiversity which there comes together amazes me time and time again. One can observe how the birds in harmony with each other to eat as they bicker in part, as the young birds scream at their mothers and with the wings beat because they want to be fed. Sometimes it is a sight for the gods. ;)
We have been able to observe all kinds of feathered (and also ungefiederte) comrades and their habits in our feeding site:
- Greenfinch, hawfinch and goldfinches sit on the lining plate and remain seated until they are tired.
- Blue and great tits get something out quickly (preferably peanut) and then sit down to chucks in the tree
- Sparrows have to put at the beginning of difficulties on the edge, it wars over time but every now getting better. (You but also seem to be on very fat balls).
- Chaffinches and Yellowhammers do it not (have also never really saw that they would try it) to eat from the house and pick prefer the ground.
- Robins have big problems with the house, often fly very quickly ran, pecking blind for something what they can achieve and then fly quickly away. However, they are also to be found with us at the feeding station in winter only.
- Starlings and blackbirds are also welcome to use the house. However, since they are too large for the edge, you need a reasonably stable road leading towards the plate.
- Last winter it has even devious, the mice in our house. The flit the trunk high as nothing and sit schwupps in the house.
- The resident squirrels operate despite its own cottage squirrel and nut sac always enjoy the aviary.
Witzig is that the birds are partly quite choosy about their food choice. If something on your plate is what they do not like, as long as Prince Carnival is ever played until something delicious is nachgerutscht. ;) Freuts The birds on the ground.
I can all the animal and especially bird lovers put only his heart set up a little feeding place. The money that you are investing to pay a little with their presence doubly and triply back!
What the animals are incidentally also very grateful to be a birdbath. In winter, everything is often frozen and in summer it is so dry that the animals barely find some water. To just try and fill stand an old Frisbee with water. After a few days the birds have it out and go drinking and bathing. I'm here every time on the heart. :)
