One of the best Super Zoom

Background:
Looking for a compact station wagon for vacation trips I ended up in the system cameras from Sony since May this year.
After years with photo backpack or sling-shot on the back and a thick DSLR and a minimum of 3 lenses therein,
I met for me to decide that I rarely need the last bit of picture quality
and an APS / MFT sensor in a compact body provides sufficient for me imaging performance with great flexibility.
I have different systems incl. Lenses available compared (MFT, Nikon 1, Fuji X-Pro, NEX)
and am finally landed at Sony NEX (also because of the available Tamron 18-200).

For Tamron itself:

For processing I give 4 stars, considering the price. 5
The lens has a metal bayonet, the tube is tight, nothing rattles, the zoom ring is running smoothly with pleasant resistance.
It has a good feeling of use, it fits well with the NEX-haptic. 7
The handling of the NEX-7 like it very much. The combination is good and quiet in his hand, with his left hand on the lens and the eye to the viewfinder
can be realized without shaking even longer exposures at the telephoto end.
The weight I feel (not too easy or difficult) to be pleasant.

For the imaging performance I also forgive 4 stars.
Who by a 11 x zoom is a perfect imaging performance expected will probably have to not be satisfied with the Tamron and continue searching forever
or free for Rolf Miller: "Those looking for heaven on earth, was not paying attention in geography lessons."
However, the Tamron 18-200 Di III VC is of the optical power across the system one of the best available 10/11-fold zoom.
I know the alternatives from Canon (also 2500, - expensive EF 28-300 L IS USM on small image sensor), Nikon, Sigma, Tamron for DSLR, Olympus and Panasonic.

Unusually good is the sharpness at the edges of the lower range of focal lengths - here falter many competitors.
The Tamron cuts in this regard even much better than many of the 3 or 5-fold zoom.
The sharpness of my copy is in the range of 18-25mm and 50-150mm over the entire image field very well.
Between 25 and 50 mm and above 150 mm, it has a slight decentering (right of the screen "softer" than the left or vice versa).
However, the image quality in the center is also in Endbrennweite 200mm remarkably high -Usually build here super telephoto zooms or even from much stronger.

The chromatic aberrations are within the usual range, here a specific post is recommended for larger includes prints (as Lightroom users no problem for me)
The distortion is in line with expectations and is also correctable with appropriate Softwar.
Autofocus could be faster at this point is the competition (also in-house -USD) particularly in the upper zoom range significantly better.
The image stabilizer allows approximately a 2-3 fold increase in the exposure times (can however NEX-system does not off separately on the lens or Unignore)

Conclusion:
The Tamron I am well equipped for about 80% of my pictures while traveling.
In combination with the NEX-7 it gives very good results with compact dimensions and low weight.
