I myself have learned to play with this book the guitar 15 years ago and have now bought for a friend who is also a beginner. I am still absolutely thrilled by the art of the book. Especially as a beginner you want as quickly as possible can play songs and you can with this book very quickly. The musical basics come yet not too short, and with the other books of Peter Bursch can deepen this even further.
