I approached the purchase of the Road To Ruin CD with pretty high expectations, because the CD is exactly the transition from the mid- 70s Ramones- Punk and the start of Radio friendliness Pop Punk time early 80s. ROAD TO RUIN is the first CD after the departure of drummer Tommy, who was replaced by Marky Ramon. However, Tommy has co-produced the album! Highlights of the CD are of course the Of the countless best-known albums songs "I Just Want To Have Something To Do", "She's The One" and "I Wanna Be Sedated", the Joey during his Krankenhausaufhalt in New Jersey because of its injured Voice wrote. He told Linda Stein: "Put me in a wheelchair and get me on a plane before I go insane" And this phrase was part of one of the best songs! With "I Do not Want You" and "I'm Against It" two very good songs are available. "Needles and Pins", a The Searchers Cover is richitg wonderful and often better than the original Two Songs The Ramones were trying to experiementieren: "Do not Come Close", and "questioningly", the latter too much of a mix reminiscent of rock and country and I do not like! The last song "It's A Long Way Back" Dee Dee wrote about his childhood in Germany and the song makes a good conclusion of the original CD! So a strong album of Ramones! The bonus material is quite nice (The Soundtrack of Rock'n'Roll High School) and also a very good cover with photos, information and lyrics!
