For me, this book is one of the best Werber wrote, as well as ants.
No downtime, it runs parallel to the two detectives investigation and the life of "first man" there are several million years. The suspense became unbearable in the last pages, we read at the speed of light, almost without breathing!
For critics: Yes, that's right, style is not always excellent, and there are several ideas already present in other novels Werber. The "revelation" at the end may seem (is?) Unlikely, but the goal sought by the author is not to convince us, but to lead us to question our origins, and offers a hypothesis and reflection interesting on the 3 monotheistic religions.
Other novels he has written later are themselves really bad (overexploitation of the same vein, the greed, and so on ...). But regarding "The father of our fathers", read it: it is a compelling story thinking.
