the latest oeuvre offers diffizileres - if one may speak of thrills diffizil at the - at the usual high level. you can hear the West Coast of California melancholy in almost every song, but especially in the single "Nothing Changes Round Here" and the secret jewel "i'm so sorry".
the virtuosity of the guitarist / bassist is reflected in the use of all possible strings, a beautiful example provides the mandolin song "restaurant" (recall that on the last album selbige yet peter by the brilliant buck - SEM - was plucked !!) ,
a great summer record that grows with each listen, but probably not the - overdue - will bring mainstream breakthrough ...
but who wants to be mainstream?
