"Yentl" is not only the soundtrack to the film, but virtually a one-woman show. Apart from a few very brief moments where sometimes other voices can be heard as dialogues from the movie, the whole CD of Streisand's voice dominates. The orchestral Untermahlung is usually really only supportive or adheres discreetly in the background. Very rare that they occur once in the foreground, for example, the perfect finish to Auskland a song. Streisand's voice can unfold here fully and in principle you will also not feel they are dealing with a soundtrack - at least if the film does not know him or no longer figuratively has to a large extent in the head - but can the simply imagine hearing in the fantasy is a lit stage with Barbara Streisand on it and feel just put in a concert inside. That certainly has the same effect as for all those who can bring the film before the eyes, because the expressiveness of the voice is impressive in any case.
