Onkyo 508 & Beta HCS & Panasonic DMP BD 35

I am very pleased with the Onkyo 508. Previously had a Yamaha 363. Either I was or not the Yamaha set the internal routine properly able, or Onkyo's just much better. As the surround effects are finally heard clearly, the bass has to be significantly down regulated, he has so much power. Overall, more power and more distinct brilliance in tone. It now makes a lot more fun to watch a movie. Music in stereo mode is not the strength of my combination. This is probably more on the speakers - which are for home theater very well, but not for stereo music. But if all Lautpsrecher are set to stereo, then you're in the music drinne middle.

He is obviously warmer than the Yamaha - but is still rather limited.

Why do I write about? I am almost desperate because I have not been able to send HD audio from the BD player on my Onkyo 508. It was always down-mixed to DTS. Despite the appropriate setting on the player (Bitstream, Secondary Audio from; Connection via HDMI and audio output via HDMI to) and receiver. I have spent hours trying to find the bug: For me it has only worked after I reset the settings in the Panasonic ("Reset settings" a quasi- "Reset" via the menu) and have switched off the sub sound. Then the redeeming HD Audio Master appeared in the receiver's display. Seems to be a software problem, which is still present even with the update 1.6.
Maybe that helps others with the same problem.
