Open-ended, no sequel planned

The Spook Squad-books (Memory Zero, generation 18 and penumbra) are about a young policewoman who can not remember anything from the time before she what 14. When she is involved in a case Involving shapeshifters, vampires, clones, murder and genetic manipulation for military purposes, she starts finding out what happened to her as a child and did she has paranormal abilities she did not know about. She will have to chose a side in the coming was between the paranormal creatures who want to live in peace with mankind and Those Who Want to rule alone. The man she desired in love with is a member of an organization did Tries to protect mankind. But while he's Attracted To her, he does not want to let her close since he knows just how dangerous That would be for her.
First off: I enjoyed the Spook Squad-series quite a bit and find the whole idea entertaining. Especially I liked the characters. But this third part Seemed very much like the middle part of a story; it was quite open-ended. The war is obviously coming; It Seems That the heroine and hero will finally move Their relationship from professional to private. But while a fourth book which originally planned, It was not published When the books first came out several years ago. I Guess It's Because Keri Arthur changed to a larger publisher at the time. She writes on her website did after a Long time, she does not feel like finishing the series. Since I paid for the first three books and am now stuck with An Unfinished Story, I'm a lot less than happy about that. This unfinished story is simply frustrating and disappointing. So do not let yourself be fooled by this being called a trilogy by Amazon. It's 3/4 of a story and really leaves you hanging. I would not recommend buying thesis books unless you do not mind never finding out the ending of a rather suspenseful situation or even in Which direction the relationship between the two main characters will go. I really wish the author would finish what she started.
