Surely I will never with Shakira, make friends in my ears throaty, klotzigem singing in ballads like "Underneath Your Clothes", and also not with her here and there but evil penchant for "sex sells" mentality. But that's actually not found in this album. While I understand very little Spanish, but this album sounds at least very "innocent" (OK, a bit which is always).
Meanwhile, I have to admit that her vocals in some songs certainly has power and expression. I notice in such a good mood numbers like "Devocion" or "Loca". And also some other, slower pieces can convince me nowadays. As she sings not so pressed and strained, as I have often felt in recent years. No, because it sounds really reassuring and emotionally. And overall the album is fully adjusted to summer and joie de vivre.
Overall, I like "Sale El Sol" especially due to their versatility, real creativity, mood and really lively music. "Mariposas" I think, unfortunately, a bit boring, and there are still 1 to 2 other numbers here that does not convince me really. But that's normal.
I ask not generally claim that each song has to be extremely deep consistently, so I can also with pure dance hits like "Rabiosa" quite start something. The main thing is it's not just about the hip movement and to the male audience (my personal claim!).
The various versions of "Waka Waka" I think OK, because it just still something sounds different, for every taste.
Shakira if you're doing it so you do it right!
