have been 2 1/2 years, the "sister unit" FC6148 / 01 in use and sucking until today perfectly. Only the 12 V connection for the car is missing, you had to have to hurry to get clean with one battery charge the car. For this reason I have now gained the FC6149 / 01 with 12V car connector.

My impressions in the form of comparisons with the FC6148 / 01:

Exactly the same as the well finished FC6148 / 01. Same functional and attractive design.
From the suction her there, after extended testing, a striking contrast to '48: the beginning more (as 12V instead of 10.8V), but faster easing.
The engine electronics does not seem like digitized in '48, but the battery voltage 1: 1 pass to the motor. The decay of the battery charge becomes noticeable earlier. In '48 you almost to the end the full power thanks to intelligent engine electronics. Of course, the NiMH used in the 49er is likely a different discharge characteristics exhibit as the Li-ion in '48. Very disadvantageous I do not feel this, however, since the power sufficient until the end is here and is also already sucked in the car via the cigarette lighter port.
The higher weight of NiMH batteries and a long charging time (16h vs. 8h) should be noted as well slight drawback.
The volume is significantly higher than the '48. Whisper quiet, although both are not, but pleasant it attaches itself to the '48.
The charging electronics is unbalanced when 49er to save energy, so do not turn at full charge on standby.
Yet another difference in terms of electronics: There is only one extraction level (100%), whereas there is the '48 two. This, however, I find not a disadvantage because I always suck anyway only to 100%.
Striking at 12V operation in the car: As soon as the plug is inserted, comically reduces the suction power? Clearly remember when freshly charged battery.
Very well thought out is the addition of many accessories (equipment bag, extension hose, narrow nozzle attachments, brush heads, large cushion brush, 12V cable). This shows that the 49er was designed primarily for the car.
Disadvantages Accessories: When using the extension tube but goes much lost suction. The large brush attachment can be, unfortunately, used only together with the hose.

Conclusion:
Convinced after prolonged testing is not 100%. compared to the "smaller" sister unit there is almost only disadvantages. However, the mentioned shortcomings affect not really so negative. Purchase decision was right, since for the car absolutely top (12V connector, lots of accessories).
If a handy battery vacuum cleaner ONLY FOR THE APARTMENT is wanted, but I advise to FC6148 / 01, as comparable if not better loaded (because more constant) suction, cheaper, lighter, faster, more intelligent motor electronics, energy-efficient, quieter.
