Optimization for the SEL16

I have photographed among others, the SEL16 with and without these wide conversion a dazzling array with a test chart. As I looked at the pictures of SEL16, I was horrified as blurred this mapping of Aperture 2.8 to 5.6 on the sides and in the corners, some real mud. Only at f 8 I found the results acceptable. I am anything but a Pixelpeeper, wanted only times to judge a more objective scale to the image quality of my lenses.

The pictures with the wide conversion ECU1 I was against amazed by its performance. Even in Aperture 2.8 much better sharpness results in all areas as the SEL16 without the converter. Very acceptable results then from aperture 5.6.

Probably can not compete with more expensive ultra-wide angle lenses, the combination SEL16 + ECU1. (I have not tested.) However, if like me has a SEL16 from a kit, this can add value so that at a very reasonable price.
