The hard drive is available in two variants (here on Amazon). The older, tested by Computer Bild and offered here has 8 MB cache and a Western Digital hard drive (ID with me ... WD500), while the younger, untested over 16 MB cache and a Samsung hard disk has. That the younger is a bit more expensive (irritating: price fluctuations on Amazon as at the pump), so has its reason. Now to me a week ago for 109.99 EUR [z.Zt. 99.99 EUR] bought earlier version: The state is safe (the screws of the foot pulls you determine if the screws are inserted into the rail because nothing wobbles) and slip resistant. For the lying installation self-adhesive rubber nubs are settled (somewhat hard to recognize as such); also is a strip for concealing the side rail in the housing then for this case. The perceived quality of the housing is very neat. The blue / red light is extremely disturbing and been pasted over from me, so it only seems delicate pastel colors. The handbook is a joke (s Internet at Trekstor, more there really is not, newcomers remain left to itself;. Also the hard disk manufacturer is not betrayed, the cache is experiencing a sticker on the box). The rudimentary assembly instructions are not exactly optimal and are rather puzzled. If under XP the Device Manager under guidelines of the drive the choice changed to performance optimization (set to quick removal usually), the data transfer rate breaks strangely enough together. Otherwise, at least the promised values are reached. The housing is (only) under continuous load quite warm, but not hot. Maybe the heat dissipation through the metal housing while the plate is a bit worse. The hard disk is not silent, but very quiet. The noise does not bother at least. Even when reading and writing the disk remains very quiet. She does not transmit (the very small) vibrations on the desk. A word about BackItUp2: Who still has an older version of Nero, BackItUp2 can forget it because the previous versions - as I understand the message correctly and I'm not going to test it! - Completely (not only BackItUp) to be uninstalled when BackItUp2 to be installed. Who Nero in its current version, the software needs anyway not (again). So the software makes for nonusers of Nero sense. Since missing a real words.
