Outstanding addon to a outstanding game!

I admit that when I first heard, the Enemy Within has no new campaign, but only a modified version of the original game play, I was somewhat disappointed - I finally had the game 4 times (2 times to normal, 2 times by played on Classic). From this disappointment is now, after I've spent about 25 hours by Addon, absolutely no trace.

This addon contains everything necessary to make even with a 5th run the gaming experience into something completely new

- An enemy organization, Exalt who sabotaged our actions whose cells we rub out by covert ops missions piece by piece, and thereby get clues to the location of the Exalt-based. This is then turned into a special mission.

- A new resource, Meld, with which we can let our soldiers hit 2 new development paths.

- Genetic Vebesserungen by using Meld (augmented legs, eyes, second heart, pheromones, etc.) with corresponding bonuses

- Conversion of soldiers in huge Mec warriors with unique abilities and weapons that again play on the battlefield completely different (incl. Close Kill animations)

- New objects (nail grenades, poison grenades, stun grenades, respirators, special ammunition)

- New enemy types: The heavily armored and armed Mechtoid, and of disguise and tentacle reinforced Seeker

- The opportunity to give their own soldiers medals with corresponding bonuses

- *** SPOILER *** an extremely challenging and exciting mission, in their own base is defended against intruders. *** SPOILER ***

- Exciting new Council missions, including an outstanding mission in a contaminated fishing village

- New research and development

- New and Revised Maps

I personally found the Classic game experience even a bit more challenging than in the main game, including through the combination Mechtoid + Sectoid Commander, the upgraded Sectopod in the endgame (Damage Reduction 50% hitpoints +) and by the numerous other ways his few dollars at the beginning of game - sometimes with bad timing - output. I just tried twice in the Ironman Classic mode, and am failed miserably;)

Some criticisms I have to respond, unfortunately: The difficulty of the Exalt missions initially average at best, later ridiculously easy. This is due inter alia to the level design of the Covert Ops missions and by the extremely weak AI Exalt mercenary. Some new items are not particularly appealing and remain as lead on the shelves of the barracks. The balancing act sometimes a bit out of hand, but this is due to the many new upgrades and optimization. I would recommend everyone to try at least in the classic mode, mainly because the endgame is otherwise too easily. Keyword Endgame Unfortunately nothing has changed in the last mission very weak, so the final is a bit boring.

Overall, Enemy Within has the main game but still a little more valuable and more fun made, and thus one of the biggest titles of recent years brings a second spring. A must-have!
