I discovered the author Pierre Lemaître with this book and I admit that I am delighted to discover this French writer. Sacrifice is the last part of a trilogy (neat work, Alex) having as the main character Verhoeven inspector. Note that it is not obliged to have read the first two to understand this story. The first pages may surprise because the tone is very special but it is quickly swept away by history. This book is well written, the story is captivating from beginning to end. We spend a great time and it is essentially a police book.
