'Heart of the Congos' is indeed sometimes referred to as best production / discovery of Lee Perry. Now, the production of the album is pretty neat for the year 1977, the music, however, not nearly as good as their reputation. Boring to lengthy tracks (about 6 minutes) predominate. Catchiness: largely non-existent. Only 'The Wrong Thing' and 'Open up the Gate' stand out in qualitative terms.
The sad thing is that it is remarkably good musicians who unfortunately do not have any good ideas for songs.
