Pentax KX: small but outstanding entry-level DSLR

Great camera with a very good price / performance ratio. In general, the KX has cut neatly in most tests. Many of the criticisms of how the energy hungry I can not confirm. Target audience for the camera in my view ambitious newcomers to DSLR photography. Whether for professionals that might prevent the camera, I can not judge, because I myself am not such. While rummaging in relevant forums, however, noticeable that are often criticized by self-proclaimed professionals just little things at the camera - Odent exaggerated, of course. Whether you really need auto focus points in the viewfinder is sometimes an open question - this is sure to miss someone who is accustomed.

Here are my impressions summarized:

+ Excellent image quality, very natural color reproduction.
+ Even at high ISOs excellent noise performance.
+ Image stabilization in the body, not in the objective.
+ For the price range very generous feature set.
+ Many settings.
+ Most settings are easily accessible in the menu.
+ Neat installation, nothing wobbles, camera feels very solid despite plastic chassis.
+ Powered by AA batteries / batteries (ok, is a matter of faith ...).
+ Next to closed-RAW-format Pentax also Adobe's DNG stands for RAW images.
+ The kit lens is simple but does what it promises.
+ Internal engine to produce HDR images.
+ Camera is quite small for a DSLR, yet fits comfortably in your hands. Anyway, in my. People with very big hands are as likely to have their problems.

- No red light for the auto focus. When shooting in the dark fires of lightning Stroposkop salvos to provide light for the auto focus. Unfortunately, the auto focus then often works relatively unreliable (which is why I in bad light often focusing manually). A dedicated flash with red light can here create natural remedy.
