Perfect as an alarm clock

I opted for the Fidelio DS 1200 as a replacement for my alarm clock. Since the ratings for me always have an important purchase criterion, was uncertain and was looking only for a few days to comparable products. But comparable Dockinglautschprecher usually cost significantly more because I mainly wanted an alarm clock replacement that plus has a good sound, I opted for the Fidelio.

Tuesday ordered quickly as usual, the package arrived on Thursday with the friendly gods ...
Very good and packed safely, without damage to the extent so ever good.

So quickly open the original box and there it was, the iPad saucer. With enclosed was in addition to the operating instructions in the pictogram style nor a euro-plug adapter. For what? The external power supply of Fidelio has an English plug, so it seems to be a European import. But that does not evaluate the device from yes also.
Commissioning is extremely simple, AC adapter into the power outlet, connect the Fidelio with the AC adapter and iPad connect to Fidelio, done!
The clock automatically synchronizes with the pad and it seems to point out that the right app (DockStudio) is not yet installed. Can we ignore, or simply install the app. Who does not want to use can ignore them.
I installed to test them and can not understand the previous reviews. The app works fine with me (6:01 iOS iPad 3) no crash. However, it is also not all too extensive, but it's TuneIn involved. I use TuneIn as a separate app, cool thing. However, the alarm clock function, I use directly through TuneIn, so I can about the alarm clock function by DockStudio say anything.

For sound:
The device is about as wide as the iPad, covered with a brown substance which makes it look very discreet.
When I had the docked iPad and had started TuneIn, the surprise! The small part has a super sound! If I had not expected at the size, the bass strong, clear treble and rattle everything without droning or. Because the pad so brings an equalizer, different sound variations are still adjustable. In addition, the dock still has a USB port to which additionally an iPod, iPhone or the like can be loaded. I have not tested the ability to connect over a "normal" mp3 player and play the music.
All in all, the part of a sound sensation and is good also for PA, in a room with about 15 square meters is quite sufficient and the performance to be proud of.

For alarm function:
The scope of functions depends on the used app, there's enough to try out for free in the AppStore.
The unit has a digital time display that can be divided into three stages dimmers. These are located on the top of the housing buttons to operate the volume, screen brightness, and to turn on an orientation light. The latter can be divided into two stages dimming and is very good for orientation in the dark.
Because the display behind the fabric covering is, it lights up in a pleasant brightness.
