According to very modest levels of Blaze-era "The X-Factor" and "Virtual XI" many fans had given up hope that Maiden would again find back to their old strength. The announcement that Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith would enter again, expectations were naturally shoot through the roof, even though the last works with Dickinson were not just classic. But the high expectations should be clearly met with Brave New World and it turns out to not only be a good Maiden album, but in my opinion it is the best work is with the band. The previously single "The Wicker Man" is a song with absolute ear candy character, which makes it very difficult to assess the song really objectively. "Ghost of the Navigator" proves a final then but that you have it again dealing with a Maiden-work, can that continue the old days. A very good song that can shine with great rhythm, magnificent chorus and brilliant solos. The title track "Brave New World" is also another classic, the rather dark comes Maiden untypical. In this studio album already good but a bit powerless, the song turned out to be at Rock in Rio were a Maiden anthem. "Blood Brothers" is an ingenious ballad that goes over 7 minutes and not a second bored. A truly masterful composition. The second single, "The Mercenary" is a Catchy rock number, in which the main focus is on the refrain. But then comes the real highlight of this longplayer, "Dream of Mirrors". One can say that this musically is one of the absolute best songs of the band probably no exaggeration. The song starts very hard, runs quietly and is discharged at a later Rifffeuerwerk how has not known it since "Fear of the Dark". This song reminds one most clearly back to the old 80s, where Maiden presented a classic after the other on the legs. "The Fallen Angle" is also a relatively simple rock song with focus on the chorus directed. "The Nomad" is an epic number, which I think is also quite at Rock in Rio could have been played. The last two songs can not quite reach the first 6, but are still very worth listening to.
