After I had some problems with scanners from other manufacturers and their programs for Mac OS X (in particular Maverick), I've made even bother to examine the supplied with OS X driver files for Maverick to scanner models and then to look at what the is most economic.

And I came across this model of Epson.

Amazon has delivered four weeks earlier than expected - connected, detected, scanned: So it must be.
Without special software from Epson that were up and running. For Mac users mE therefore perfect.
For integration with Windows, I can not write anything.

Differences to competing models from HP (ScanJet 3800) there was no - Otherwise, the scanner little give in the price range.
