The Anspieltipps: -Uncharted- was the first song I heard from -Kaleidoscope Heart-, and looked. A wonderful pop song. Funny, entertaining, melodic and well audible. The video for this song is a little work of art in itself. -hold My heart- shows Bareilles strengths in terms of rhythm and song. A drum passage dominates the song with Bareilles quiet, Enchanting voice. Playful and with a splendid Clapping Passage comes -Gonna get over you-. The -King of anything- is a radio hit at its finest. Voice, rhythm and piano make sure that the song is now in the ear and there also remain. In the ballad department itself -The Light- feels at home. A worn song, wonderfully sung. -Breathe Again- is finest songwriting. These required Sara Bareilles only a piano and an empathetic melody.
-Kaleidoscope Heart- is, like its predecessors, all of a piece. Maybe a tad acoustical than anything the mainstream pop market has to offer today. It is Bareilles voice and the use of "your piano" who impresses her songs an unmistakable stamp. Yes ... that's still "basic, simple" pop, but: If Sara Bareilles to processed, the easiest song number is even ennobled. Very worth listening to!
