As Ultrabook arrived, I was at first very excited. No wonder the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro looks great, is incredibly light and has a very good quality of workmanship.
When you turn inspired me the incredibly sharp, high contrast and bright screen. I usually use a 24-inch Full HD monitor and have to say that this focus seemed to me when I used these 2 Pro after yoga. It is also worth mentioning that the Ultrabook, thanks to SSD, extremely fast boot up (there are about 5 seconds). Is it a SSD unaccustomed, so you will be amazed by their speed. The performance is excellent and particularly the tablet feature I found very convenient.
However, Let's talk about the negatives:
The first problem I realized when I tried a game and the arrow keys operated it. These were probably not stored properly, so it often happened that they got stuck at the left bottom of the frame. This error was present only the arrow keys, the FN key and the Page Up key. I found nothing to the Internet, this is probably only in my unit been a problem. Otherwise, the keyboard was quite pretty and also nice to use. The additional inserted Lenovo row of keys on the far right (ie after the Enter key), which bothers some people, I did not bother.
Many people here make the famous yellow error attentive, so the problem of the display to represent the color yellow. Lenovo published for this error a BIOS update, which significantly improved, although the appearance of yellow, but the problem is not completely eliminated. One can see particularly when starting the Ultrabooks like the system in the first few seconds, the color from ocher to earlier improved (slightly greenish) Yellow adapts. While the yellow is not perfect after the update, but I did not mind really.
We come to the second problem. This became apparent when I was surfing the Internet at night. To test the battery time and really exploit, I set the display to the lowest brightness level. I noticed a flicker of the display, which occurred within seconds intervals (not to be confused with the adaptive brightness, this option was off with me!). This flicker of the display was really unpleasant and particularly visible when the color white was shown. Read was thus impossible for me. You increased the brightness slowly so you could perceive the flicker less and less until it was gone at 40% brightness. So much to read this I started in forums and it turned out that a lot of people for a long time have this problem. I could not bring about someone in experience, which does not have this problem, most people simply do not notice it, because they never work at the lowest brightness level. Upon further search for a solution in the Lenovo forum drew an administrator of Lenovo on a BIOS update as a solution for this problem. This BIOS update I installed and realized that only the lowest level of brightness of the display has been raised, so that the flicker was almost imperceptible. The lowest brightness level after the update was so much lighter than before (0% brightness after the new update roughly equivalent to 30-40% brightness with the older BIOS). So it seems that this problem is in hardware and, similar to the yellow representation, Lenovo can not be resolved. But what brings me to the question of why Lenovo these units, although this issue has long been known, still produces (which I sent sent has been manufactured in May this year).
Let's talk about the past, disturbing me, problem. This occurred to me when I changed to the previously described problem of fibrillation observed in silent and dark places, the brightness levels. I noticed that the Yoga 2 Pro, when the brightness was set to a value less than 100%, is a really unpleasant high-traffic sound. This really is only audible in quiet environments and even when the fan is not working on. Again, I searched the forums and unfortunately I was this time not the only people affected by this problem, apparently also a hardware failure. Because I would have used the Yoga 2 Pro mainly for work (often in quiet environments), so is a highly frequented sound a taboo for me, because it would take me all my concentration. It should be mentioned at this point that not all people perceive this tone (I must have sensitive ears).
The indicated Lenovo battery life of nine hours, I could not reach, with power-saving features I came on about 5-6 hours, which is not outstanding, but quite ok.
I would reserve the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro like because much potential was hidden in it, had me in the end but for the power to decide due to the errors described above to return.
