I bought as a replacement for my MSI GTX 660 Twin frozer this gem and have to say the purchase was worth it so far. In idle mode does not perceive but under full load, ie Crysis 3 all at Ultra is already in my view very noisy and is 79-80 degree hot what with the 770 series, however, is completely normal! (I am speaking here with absolute full load, mind you) ;-) But I must say that there is no annoying noise! No Vipen or otherwise. Power simply needs cooling and can gigabyte very good and you have a little more upside potential when you need it (but you really need not)! The clock does not boost is given by Mr. Teller 1189 MHz but at 1250MHz.
Conclusion: Anyone who wants to upgrade from a 660 series to the 770 of it should definitely do because the performance increase is substantial. After all, who would soon play Battlefield 4 and want to enjoy it to the full settings will not get far (speaking from experience) with a 660! But a switch from a 680 to 770 EHR is from a performance point low that you should change your mind again! On the whole, I can recommend the graphics card every price performance ratio!
