Commissioning proved very easy and a setup led by an all important steps. The firmware is also equal
updated. A DVB-T antenna is however not provided and it is possible to receive TV channels only,
if you connect a separate antenna.
+++ +++ Settings
You can via the menu extensive settings and the image or sound to your own preferences
. Adjust Since I mainly watch movies, I have all optimized for movie viewing.
+++ +++ TV operation
The TV quality, I feel very good with the integrated DVB-T (digital) tuner, but not enough, of course,
on the quality of a Full HD signal zoom. There are smart TV and EP-Guide features a Program Overview
to obtain. The design is well thought out and logically organized according to my understanding.
+++ +++ Image quality
The illumination is with me not quite homogeneous, that one sees in the 4 corners of light beam in black screen, but which bother me at any time. The picture quality is at appropriate source material but (1080p) beyond reproach and a pleasure
for the eyes. If you can live with a slight clouding which should be able to make friends with this TV.
+++ Smart TV function: DLNA +++
As already mentioned, the Smart TV functionality was an important criterion when buying the TV.
After commissioning of TVs predefined Apps are installed as Bild.de, Bayern Munich, the cosmopolitan, max cathedrals, LOVEFiLM etc. pp.
One can have a app browser for further apps and the choice is very large.
Important for me however was the DLNA feature, so I was able to stream from my server smoothly in 1080p via WLAN Stick MKV files.
However, this turned out to be not quite as easy as I thought, because after installing the Samsung Link software and the release
my folder I was able to convince the TV from reporting my MKV files. A liquid, ie uninterrupted playback
was unfortunately still not possible. Every 10 seconds was recharged and of course that was annoying.
Looking for the cause, it turned out that the Samsung was to make its own WLAN Stick responsible or
the use of a 2.4 Ghz wireless network. In the guidance of the sticks was clearly advised to 5GHz networks in conjunction with HD streaming,
the one (s) but of course only at the end reads ;-). After I created 5 Ghz wireless network on my Fritz box, I could not
continuous stream interruption. I have to admit: alone I would not have come out.
The TV may at MKVs change the audio track, change subtitles, change image format and set the subtitle sync.
DTS / DolbyDD / TrueHD / MasterHD soundtracks are issued without any problems through the internal speakers, which in my opinion, a
have very good sound for a TV. Of course you can also continue to route the signal via Toslink to its own receiver.
+++ Smart TV function: Netflix / Hulu / Pandora +++
I really wanted to get access to Netflix, Hulu and Pandora, but in DT. App Store could not be found. Since the TV
was intended for the European market, could not set up without any additional effort to this.
To gain access to the US apps, I had to do the following:
1. Press the Menu
2. Switch to System
3. Select the Setup (1 entry)
4. Carry out the initial setup again to step to the Privacy Policy
5. Press the following key combination on the remote control: MUTE | RETURN | VOL + | P + | MUTE
6. After successful entry you can set the TV to another home market. Here I have selected United States of America.
As usual run 7 Setup to finish.
After setting up the previously installed apps German Now all uninstalled and replaced by their American counterparts.
Now you have access to Netflix, which will soon pop up in the first place on the app page.
The only what you have to take care of now is to maintain or to use a DNS server from the States an IP from the United States.
To this end, I have decided for Unlocator that offer this service for free during the beta phase. (Fee-based alternative is Unblock-US)
On the Fritz box, I then changed the DNS server on the by Unlocator and my connection re-established and voilá,
Netflix will launch and I can log in with my existing account to view all of my series / movies.
Hulu and Pandora of course also start as usual. Through this 'hack' is the TV in my favor very high up and I
am thrilled completely.
+++ +++ CONCLUSION
All in all, I'm from this TV very enthusiastic. Whether other buyers but also love, is probably largely on the price from which the or the need to pay. For the price paid by me price of 344 euros, the TV is unbeatable and a real asset.
