Queensryche (Limited Mediabook Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

No, the "new Geoff" surely one: He is not charismatic, signature styling, theatrical artist and frontman, the Queensryche was a face. But La Torre is also not a mere imitation: his voice sounds similar to that of Tate, but is based on the straight metal type and blends perfectly with the overall sound of the band.

For Queensryche sound to their "debut" - again - as a unit and actually are building on past times. Also an artist should not forget his musical roots, the Tate has done but: The faceless discs have previously published the Queensryche long years, must have been an ordeal for any fan of the band. Tate Queensryche has had degenerated into an ego-show that is now all too clear.

There are on this CD almost no failures. Outstanding are the melodious unspun "In this light" with his typical catchy chorus Queensryche. Earlier, the song would have been determined released as a single.

Tate's gone and already lays Drummer Rockfield how to best times furiously on the snappy "Vindication" Come on, it's a real pleasure. Melody, virtuosity, depth - everything back! Guys, this is Queensryche! Likewise, "Spore" or the reduced "Fallout".

This divorce did the band well, even if the injured pathetic Tate does not want to see that. Alone it is already evidence that the band musically (and probably human) no longer in harmony with each other and worked.

So the brittle, somewhat inconspicuous singer La Torre is a godsend for the band. A good choice! Similarly, the return to the producer and sound engineer of the old classics. The album sounds punchy, warm and balanced.

I am excited to see where to evolve the born-again Queensryche.
