First, the positives: the K-zoom is a great phone with good reception, fast Fuktionen, class operability and excellent battery life. The camera is at the level of a good compact camera. The image quality you require for a holiday or something similar under normal light conditions. The functionality of the camera is very good, ranging from numerous image programs to the complete manual adjustability. Also HDR out of hand works well. Exposure compensation and ISO setting are easily accessible. The autofocus works quickly enough, colors are beautiful and the exposure usually sits very well. The 10x zoom lens offers focal lengths in all an acceptable image quality - only at full zoom some few details and CAs. The battery life when using the camera is still ok. On a day when I had a lot of photographs, the evening were still left 40%. Since the current is when using the K-Zoom as Navi (with the app NavFree) much faster in the knee - incidentally very good reception of GPS. For fast moving subjects, there is a sports mode. Also continuous shooting are possible and work well. The video performance is also very good, but I use relatively rare.
What not so ideal is: The Auto ISO only goes to 400. This one comes in lower light or fast shutter speeds with automatic fast to the limits. The image stabilization works very well. You can manually go to 3200 with the ISO. I find the quality of waste from ISO 400 to 800-1600 not so dramatic, so far as the Auto ISO would like to have been a bit more flexible. The picture quality is overall at the level of a very good compact like the Canon SX270 or Sony HX 50. Of course one can not expect miracles from the small sensor. In particular pictures by candlelight are not their thing. Since it is perhaps a tad weaker than the aforementioned compact camera competitors. At maximum zoom, the picture quality decreases and is a bit too soft. But the quality is absolutely ok overall and especially the colors of JPEG-machine are outstanding because some adult camera can learn a lot. The wide range of functions and the wide adjustability are very amazing for a mobile phone camera and more than I expected.
What I'm missing is the ability to activate the camera regardless of the mobile phone. If one has, as usual, turned a lock to activate the phone, then you have to enter the front of the camera activation. This is annoying when it got to be quick. You can turn on the camera while the shutter button, but only if the phone is already in the active mode, ie the display is on. In this respect, one must first activate the phone normally, and then turn to the trigger or by Ikon Camera. This takes time and if you previously have to enter a PIN, then it is often too late for the photo. Therefore, I have turned off all locks at me, but for security reasons is not really as good.
What I would like to see more, would a wrist strap, because when taking the smooth casing very easily can sometimes slip out of his hand; Unfortunately, there is no eye for it. The display is in the automatic setting in dark places extremely dark, so that one can read almost nothing. Therefore, I have turned off the automatic brightness control.
At present, the K zoom for me no alternative or competition. I am very happy in spite of a few limitations and thus it would buy there again.
PS: If you want to see some nice sample photos, should "Samsung k zoom flickr" googling and open the album with Flickr.
