Since probably some are trying to decide between these two backpacks, here is a comparison of:
Size:
Xtremplus: 4/5
Lowepro: 3/5
The backpack provides Xtremplus felt a little more space than the Lowepro. The camera compartment seemed to me a little deeper, so that for example the (approx 14cm high) still fit into Canon EFS 55-250 standing (or lens thread towards the back). When Lowepro it were just so, but in order to preserve the lens, it is here wol better be transported lying down.
Who wants to exclusively carry camera equipment, but takes place in two backpacks enough space for it. It is more difficult if you want to additionally take meals or even a notebook.
The front pockets at Xtremplus offer, even if not a lot, but more space than that of Lowepro. The former can be a little pressure just as even a 13 "MacBook (2008) (in the long run but not healthy for zippers, photo dämnächst success), with the latter especially not into presses.
The two side pockets backpacks can accommodate 1,5l bottles. When Lowepro just so (then comes heavily on the bottle), the Xtremplus well. In the latter case the side buckles offer even more security un relieve the power of the purse.
Why is there no backpacks of this type with notebook compartment?
Processing:
Xtremplus: 2/5
Lowepro: 4.5 / 5
As already described, the seams were on the handle of Xtremplus (without that I would have carried him to this ...) already after 1 day on. This should not happen in a backpack this price range simply. In addition, particularly the inseams seemed not besoders hochwerig (here and there, the ends of the threads hanging loose around). The adjustable partitions appeared "wobbly" than the Lowepro and saw already in the supply something "dented" from.
Externally both Backpacks make a stable and secure Einduck
When Lowepro allows the upper strap to adjust rails. I'm afraid this might be a potential weak spot, but hope it holds. (Therefore 0.5 point deduction)
Carrying system:
Xtremplus: 4/5
Lowepro: 4/5
During the test day I wore the Xtremplus about 6-7h, nearly fully loaded, on my back. The wearing comfort was pleasant and even though it is of course exhausting after a while, my back was not braced the next day, etc.
Unfortunately, I have to deduct a point because the backpack when open does not stick horizontally on its own, as the Lowepro, but must be constantly maintained.
The Lowepro I have not worn so long at a time, but he makes a good impression similar (possibly slightly worse from wearing because the "gutter" between the cushions on the shoulder blades is not consistent here).
Conclusion:
Who is willing to take risks (possibly I had just bad luck?), Or next photo accessories other things, and then transported to a laptop wants / needs, should probably the Xtremplus Dynamic Shuttle M buy (or the more expensive Lowepro Flipside 500 AW consider).
An otherwise me processing the Lowepro has a lot more confident.
