"Rage For Order", Queensrÿches second regular studio album (the '82 EP therefore not counted) was anno 1986 "Progressive" Metal album in the truest sense of the word. The eleven songs do not sound remotely like anything else that you would have ever heard or got to hear to this day. And for the independence which characterizes the band as a whole and also every single album of quintet from Seattle, "Rage For Order" is certainly the first major figurehead. On the one hand presents the legendary number WALK IN THE SHADOWS in sophisticated way the beloved very own guitar sound of the band, and the formidable Drive from lead and rhythm guitar, Chris DeGarmo and Michael has the Wilton immortalized. On the other hand are completely unconventional compositions in terms of structure and used sounds and timeless effects such as New Rule and SCREAMING IN DIGITAL. Exciting and energetic songs like THE KILLING WORDS, London or I DRAM IN INFRARED that in the climate of almost still youthful power of the band stage band even went through a ballad (working title: "Ballad in B-Minor"), fascinated with scary seemingly mysterious verses and sudden, explosive energy. For the "Ersthörer" is "Rage For Order" certainly unpredictable. And the wacky style (note the very proper style band photos) fits the cover of Lisa Dalbellos Psycho song Gonna Get Close To You, which was released by the Canadian original only two years earlier. Dalbello, incidentally, was during the recordings for follow-up album "Operation: Mindcrime" hottest candidates for the role and voice of "Sister Mary", as it then but fit scheduling reasons and, finally, made famous by Queensrÿche Pamela Moore had to go first. At observance of all of the outstanding material of "Rage For Order" without any failures, ie without some of the numerous experiments would perhaps not have succeeded also in terms of the many effects and synth sounds, also strong songs like The Whisper or SURGICAL STRIKE fall almost under the table. An atmospheric finale is the wonderful, almost fragile-looking ballad I Will Remember (note that the "Mindcrime" - successors followed directly from the first track "I Remember Now"). Above all songwriterischem genius perched voice Geoff Tate, who probably could express in any other Queensrÿche- Output so much emotion, grace and passion and shined with the coolness of his unconventional style. The original, about 2 minutes 50 long title track with a powerfull Chrous "RAGE - for order, order" has the cut not make it onto the album by the way. Nevertheless Queensrÿche fans know at least the instrumental part of the song "Rage For Order" - this was in fact on the successor album "Operation: Mindcrime" Intro to "Anarchy-X". Since "Rage For Order" Anno 1988 had a perfect sound, there is the newly launched Remastered- version in this respect is not the decisive advantages.
